May Spring Last A Lifetime

Experience the profound interplay of improvising tenor saxophonists Tom Challenger and Evan Parker on their debut duo release, 'May Spring Last a Lifetime'. Born from years of informal practice and honed through live performances, this session captures the raw energy and intricate dialogue between two masters of the genre. Recorded at Arco Barco in Ramsgate, this album marks Evan Parker's fifth appearance on the False Walls label.

The duo explores the challenging purity of improvisation, where 'there's nowhere to hide, really,' as Evan Parker describes. The shared language of the tenor saxophone becomes a vehicle for deep exploration, pushing the boundaries of what the instrument can do. Tom Challenger notes the unique listening dynamics, where moments can feel like a duet, a solo, or even a larger ensemble, revealing the complex sonic landscapes they create.
