The Solomon Gundy Band - Hancestry [Vinyl]

Hancestry is the debut album from The Solomon Gundy Band, the project of British trumpeter and composer Sean Corby. This album features a cross-generational collective of musicians from the UK's vibrant jazz scene, blending soul jazz, Afro-diasporic rhythms, and sound-system sensibilities into a contemporary musical statement. The record reflects both tradition and experimentation, bridging pioneering generations of Jazz Warriors with the sounds of today's UK subculture.

Mixed by Ashley Slater (Loose Tubes) and featuring guest appearances from UK jazz legend Courtney Pine, rising star pianist Sultan Stevenson, and vocalist Julie Dexter, Hancestry is rooted in Sean Corby's personal journey back to the trumpet. The album celebrates resilience, collaboration, and the evolving story of jazz in the UK.
