Metropolitan (1990) - Director-Approved Blu-ray Special Edition [Blu-ray]

Whit Stillman makes his directorial debut with this acclaimed comedy of manners, a sparkling chronicle of a middle-class young man's romantic misadventures in New York City's debutante society. Quiet student Tom (Edward Clements) finds himself unexpectedly drawn into the lives of wealthy Upper East Side socialites, where his assumptions about class, privilege, and relationships are challenged through razor-sharp dialogue and introspective wit. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, Metropolitan is a defining independent film of the 1990s and the first in Stillman's informal trilogy, followed by Barcelona and The Last Days of Disco.
